<text>This collection is a student project done by Kathryn Heffner and features key pieces of correspondence between H.P. Lovecraft editor, August Derleth, and Poe Scholar, Thomas Ollive Mabbott. Both August Derleth and Thomas Mabbott were readers and contributors to the popular Pulp magazine, <em>Weird Tales</em> in the 1940s. Mabbott was a contributor to the letters to the editor section of the magazine, and forged a friendship with August Derleth through letter corespondence. This collection of personal and professional letters illuminates the relationship between Mabbott and Derleth and how they worked in conjunction in their publishing efforts of weird fiction.</text>
