Description
Typescript copy, with manuscript notes, of Sarah Helen Whitman's 1848 valentine poem to Edgar Allan Poe. This poem was the inspiration for Poe's "To Helen." Even though it is relevant to "The Raven," Mabbott did not reprint Whitman's poem with "The Raven" but in his introduction to his annotated version of "To Helen" on pages 441-449 of his edition.
