Photocopy of Carroll Dulaney's newspaper column, "Day by Day," from the 11 September 1943 issue of The Baltimore News-Post. The section of the column on "The Raven" reports that T.O. Mabbott had recently identified the second edition of George Vandenhoff's A Plain System of Elocution (1845), in which excerpts from "The Raven" appeared, as the first appearance of the poem (or excerpts from it) in book form.
