Hand-copied title page from limited edition reprint of Chambers' Edinburgh Magazine version of "The Purloined Letter" (London: Ulysses Bookshop, 1931). As the note in the upper margin states, Howard Haycraft (H.H.), the detective-fiction scholar, handmade a facsimile of the book's title page in the Rare Book Room of the New York Public Library. See the footnote at the bottom of page 973 in Mabbott's edition.
